At Chandler’s Ford Infant School our Mission Statement and Vision is deeply based upon PHSE education. Every member of the whole school community is committed to developing confident, responsible, caring and enquiring individuals who are well prepared for life in modern Britain.
Our PSHE curriculum supports the children’s understanding of how they develop personally, socially and emotionally and gives them the opportunities to clarify their own values and attitudes as well as exploring and respecting a range of attitudes and values of others.
We promote a ‘can do’ attitude linked to growth mindset and encourage the ability to believe that the children can achieve their academic and personal goals by sticking at tasks, working towards long-term rewards and persevering despite any knocks that they may encounter along the way.
At Chandler’s Ford Infant School PSHE has three core themes which are:
- Health and Wellbeing,
- Living in the Wider World.
PSHE is taught through discreet sessions, circle times, whole school and year group assemblies. Staff members also always take advantage of the everyday situations that can occur and use these as opportunities to promote PSHE.
Should you have any further questions, please feel free to come and discuss them with us.
