Our vision is for all children in our school to become confident users so that they can build on their knowledge and skills of Digital Literacy, Information Technology and Computer science. E-safety is woven throughout each block and is also taught discretely through our focused weeks. These include National Online Safety day in February and Unplugged week in October.
By the end of Key Stage 1 our intention is that children are:
- Creative designers - they can confidently design, create and store a variety of digital content with a clear purpose in mind.
- Resilient problem solvers - they can design and code simple algorithms independently. They maintain a positive attitude and persevere until the bugs are fixed.
- Respectful and safe users of technology - children can reflect on the balance of time they spend on screen based and other activities. They know how to use technology safely, including keeping themselves and others safe online. They will know how to get help from trusted adults if they discover something that worries them.
