School Closure Information sent via email 19.3.20

19th March 2020

Dear Parents

Following the government announcement we are closing school from Friday 20th March at 3.15pm, with some exceptions. We will continue to be closed until further notice.

Children should not come into school from Monday, 23rd March unless they are in specific vulnerable groups or parents are key workers e.g. NHS, Police, and delivery drivers.  The government will be issuing a full list of key worker categories later today.  As this information is not sufficiently detailed as yet I am unable to identify specifically which families this relates to. We will send a further email once we have this information.

As the intended outcome of school closures is social distancing, to reduce the number of children in school, both parents will be required to be key workers, however we are expecting further clarification around this later today.  In the meantime if you are an NHS worker, Police Officer or delivery driver could you please email the office with this information, including a copy of your ID or some proof of your profession.  If you are a key worker and you would prefer your child not to attend school that is absolutely fine.

If your child meets any other criteria for being allowed into school, the admin team will contact you directly in order to avoid any uncertainty.

As some of our staff have their own circumstances affecting their ability to be at work. I am currently planning our staffing for the next few weeks, again I will keep you informed.

Your child will be coming home on Friday with their Education Pack, P.E. kit, any medication that the school holds and their book bag with 3 reading books.

If your child is already self-isolating, I will be on the playground on Friday afternoon for you or a designated person to collect your pack.

Obviously this has been a difficult decision for us all, I would like to thank you for your support and understanding at this anxious time and we are all looking forward to school being fully open as soon as possible.

Please look after yourselves, your families and your friends.

Kind regards

Lisa Holmes

Deputy Headteacher
