Traditional Tales- The Three Pigs
We had another fantastic week learning about Traditional Tales. This week we read the story of the Three Pigs. The Big Bad Wolf, 'huffed and puffed' as he tried to blow the pigs houses down! We were not happy with the Wolf so we made lots of signs to try and keep him out of our gardens- "Not by the hair on our chinny, chin, chins we will not let you in!"
We also helped the pigs to rebuild their houses using sticks, straw and bricks! We had a go at some painting and crafting and even tried to see if we could build the pigs a house using pasta and marshmallows! We hope they were pleased with the houses we made for them!
Traditional Tales- The Gingerbread Man
We had a fantastic time learning all about the Gingerbread man! The cheeky fox was up to no good in Acorn and Conker class, we found he had eaten our Gingerbread! We enjoyed retelling the story using our stick puppets, as well as making traps and wanted posters for the fox. Daisy the cow even wrote to us and asked us to help bake her some more Gingerbread to replace the ones the fox ate! Here we are baking her some more!
The children have had a great start to their time at school! We are so impressed with how well they have learnt the school routines including at lunchtimes. They have really enjoyed Sparkle time, where they have been exploring by climbing on the nest and digging in the chip pit! They have also loved cooking up some yummy cakes in the mud kitchen and getting creative in the construction area! We have seen the children demonstrating fantastically our Characteristics of Effective Learning in particular being Active Arnolds and Explorer Ellie's.
