This week is all about sport and PE. We know that you have been keeping active throughout this time so we wanted to give you a chance to celebrate all the physical activities you’ve been doing and to try some new challenges. Can you persuade other people in your family to try your favourite sport? Can you beat your own personal best on a physical challenge? You could even try inventing a new game with the equipment you have at home. Let us know what you come up with and perhaps we could even use it at sports day next year!
We will also be looking at the values and attitudes that are important in sport. Things like doing your best, fair play and keeping on going even when it gets tough. There is a story video of the Hare and the Tortoise that you could watch and some ideas for writing about the story in the resources too.
There are also lots of activities to help you explore the history and symbolism of The Olympics. 2020 should have been an Olympic year, so we thought it would be a good chance to look back at your favourite moments from the past and maybe even become a sports commentator for a day! There are some suggested clips at the bottom of the home education grid. If you enjoy being crafty there are lots of ideas to keep you busy - from decorating your own Olympic rings and making an Olympic torch to designing your own Olympic medals.
We hope you have fun learning at home and we’d love to see what you get up to.
