RHS School Garden

Inspiring Everyone to Grow

The RHS Campaign for School Gardening supports schools and groups – inspiring young people through the power of plants, offering free resources, projects and guidance to get them growing. Our work has shown that the direct benefits of gardening for young people are wide ranging:

  • Improves physical and mental wellbeing
  • Builds life skills such as confidence, resilience, teamwork and communication
  • Enhances literacy, numeracy and oracy skills
  • Enriches the entire curriculum from science, maths and geography – to art, design and languages
  • Teaches about the environment and the importance of biodiversity and sustainability
