Chandler's Ford Infant School

Science - Subject Leader Mrs Brokenshire

Science at Chandler’s Ford Infant School aims to develop a child’s natural interest, curiosity and concern for their environment. We foster the development of enquiry, exploration and observation within a stimulating context. Children learn to appreciate the way in which science contributes to today’s understanding of our world and how it will affect the future on a personal, national and global level. Science lesson planning aims to maximise opportunities for practical, enquiry based work and cross curricular links as well as the use of the outdoor class room. Science is taught discreetly, once a week in half termly topics. The topics cover aspects of science such as plant life, habitats, animal survival and adaptation as well as materials and forces and how they impact on the world around us. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to come and discuss them with us.
